Senior CoachWarren Finlayson

The 2024 season is shaping to be an exciting one. With the club in its 150th year we have continued to develop the current playing list as well as recruited several handy additions. Each new player has brought with them a diver skillset as well as an abundance of knowledge which they continue to share with the playing group. We have encouraged the playing group to share their experiences and modified training at various stages as we progress through the pre-season I preparation for practice matches and the round 1 at home. We are excited for all that is ahead of us.’

Under 18s CoachesCheyne Kelly and Ryan Shaw

The Under 18 boys are looking to keep improving on their successful return to the competition last year in 2024. We’re aiming to compete in division 2 this year and with natural progression as well as a few handy additions there’s no reason why we can’t be playing in the last game of the year again. We’ve got a great mix of born and raised Port boys, new families that have moved to town and a good group of boys that have come to us from around the Bellarine. We’re all really excited about what’s ahead.

About me (Cheyne):
I’ve loved my time at the club so far. It’s been so rewarding to teach the boys about community, mateship and having fun all while being ultra competitive. I’m so glad we were able to exceed expectations last year and that the under 18 program is looking even stronger than our premiership year. It’s only a matter of time before this translates to senior success. Hope I’m still here when it all comes to fruition.

About me (Ryan): I moved to Portarlington with my wife in 2022 and joined the club as a player. In 2023 I coached the under 18s alongside Cheyne Kelly leading to a division 3 premiership. In 2024 I will continue coaching the under 18s with Cheyne and will take on The role as junior development coordinator. I have a passion for junior development and creating a culture that is inclusive and competitive.
