The Portarlington Football Netball Club is a family friendly club that fields teams in all divisions of the Bellarine Football Netball league.

Our Under 11 teams play in the Surfside Competition on Tuesday nights either in Ocean Grove. We also enter excess Under 13 and Under 15 teams into this competition, depending on our numbers from year to year. These teams play in Geelong on Friday nights.

The Netball Department is an integral part of the Portarlington Football Netball Club and is encouraged by a large supporter base. The netball department joins with the football department to form an exciting and fun community.

We welcome any new netball players and their families to the club.

Net Set Go

The club also offers a Net Set Go program which is a Netball Victoria initiative. The program is a sequential and well organised program designed to develop skills and knowledge that will lead young netballers into the game.

Demons Junior Pathway Program

The aim of this program is for development, retention and recruitment. We aim to develop players on and off the court through specialised training for eg strength and conditioning, injury prevention, recovery and nutrition. Upskilling with specialised trainings with special guest sessions. Leadership and mentorship working with our Senior players and special guests. With this program we are hoping to be able to aid in the development of all participants in hope that we retain players moving into the Senior section to strengthen our on court competition, and also as a tool to recruit more potential players to the club.

Netball Subcommittee 2024

2024 will be a season to build on from the Premiership success in 2023. We see 4 Premiership players move into 19s and a core of the 2023 team remain in 17s with some exciting new inclusions coming in to squad. This allows our players to build on their leadership skills as we create a supportive and positive environment for all to be able to compete at their very best. 2024 we will be striving for more, we aim to develop the team together, as a cohesive unit in each third and across the whole court.

Serah Scutchings- Netball is my passion, but coaching juniors is just something else. To be able to work with young players starting their netball journey, I am able to build on their skills and build on the person they are becoming. I believe that giving a player a positive and encouraging environment to grow is most important, but the key is showing the player that I have all the confidence in them that’s where they really begin to thrive. Coaching juniors is so rewarding, the endless hours at training means nothing when you see a player execute a new learnt skill or the team run out a new play to perfection. My strengths are building a team, getting behind every athlete and brining the best out of them. My passion for the game is contagious, and I will always give my all for the game I love the most.

Innika – As a dedicated netball coach, my passion lies in developing players to become confident and skilled athletes. My strengths as a coach are laying a solid foundation by honing the basics to perfection, believing that strong fundamentals are key to success on the court. Beyond physical accomplishments, I also relish in teaching the mental strategies integral to the game, instilling in my players the cognitive agility needed to outsmart opponents and make split-second decisions. Guiding players through both the physical and mental aspects of netball brings me immense joy and fulfillment, as I witness their growth and development both on and off the court. I have been involved and around netball my whole life. Throughout the years, I’ve immersed myself in the sport, competing at various levels including representative teams where I honed my skills, mastering the art of precision and agility and commitment to the game. Beyond playing, I’ve also delved into the world of officiating, umpiring high-level games which deepened my understanding of the sport’s intricacies. Transitioning into coaching four years ago, I found a new avenue to share my passion and expertise, guiding aspiring athletes on their own journeys in netball. Each experience, from player to umpire to coach, has enriched my understanding of the game and solidified my dedication to its growth and development.

Hello Port Community! Our names are Charlie and Jordy and we have just recently been appointed the coaches of our lovely Under 13 teams for season 2024!

A little bit about us..

I’m Charlie and I’m a Registered Nurse at Epworth in Geelong. I have grown up along the Bellarine and I’m currently a Port local with my family. I have coached juniors before at my previous club Dunnstown, near Ballarat. I’m excited to be in this role and look forward to helping develop our future superstars of the club.

I’m Jordy, I’m a qualified beauty therapist, which I did for 9 years, I currently work in Admin at a transport company. I have been playing at Port for 7 years now, I played my juniors at Drysdale and Leopold where at Leopold I coached 13’s. I’m super excited to be stepping into this role this year to help develop our Juniors.

For the season 2024 we are aiming to create a space where young girls and boys can come and either begin their netball journey or continue to develop their netball skills. Our aim is to develop these girls, into great players and enable the girls and boys to be the best they can be, by providing them with appropriate skills that will see them thrive as they move through juniors. Providing the girls and boys  with a supportive environment where they can come, play netball and overall just have fun is our aim, winning is an exciting aspect of netball but as under 13s we want to create a space where the kids are just having the best time on the court and developing as well as make lifelong friendships with their team mates and the Port Demons Community.

One of the most important elements of the game is the umpiring and we would like to acknowledge our ever-present, conscientious, and reliable umpires.

If you are interested in becoming an umpire, please contact the club.

Volunteers are an essential component to the successful operation of our club.

Volunteering is a fun and rewarding activity – and a great way to become involved with a community. Regardless of skill or ability, there is always an opportunity to become involved – and you don’t need to be a player.

If you would like to help out with the Portarlington Netball Department of the Club, please contact us.
